Adding equipment to a rental quote

Adding equipment to a rental quote

  1. When a rental quote is created the add quote details screen will automatically pop-up

  2. When on an existing rental quote, navigate to the Options menu and click add quote details

  3. Select the line type equipment

Line Type Equipment Sections

When selecting the line type equipment the header section will allow you to filter data based on an equipment class and equipment model. In addition to this you can fill out a quantity and when the customer requires the equipment, and when they expect to return the equipment. It is required to select an expected off rent date, this helps with forecasting availability & revenue when converted to a rental contract.

  • Line Type

  • Equipment Class

  • Equipment Model

  • Quantity

  • Start Date/time

  • Exp. off Rent Date/time

When you are adding equipment to a rental quote, you might want to group items together. For example a 19ft scissor lift and a trailer. Clicking on the Linked To field will allow a user to group this equipment with another equipment already on a rental quote.

  • Linked To

After a user selects an equipment class and/or model the relevant pricing options will appear. If no rental rates have been configured, then the data in these fields will display blank.

Fixed Pricing

The fixed pricing method will mean that a rental rate can be set at a daily, weekly or monthly basis. For example $50 per day.

Tiered Pricing

The tiered pricing method will mean that a rental rate can be set at a daily, weekly or monthly basis, however the rates can change over a duration of the days on rent. For example 1-7 days the daily rate is $150 and from 7+ days the weekly rate is $450. The pricing tiers can also be used for the same rate type, for example for example 1-7 days the daily rate is $150 and from 7+ days the daily rate is $120.

A user can add additional pricing tiers by clicking the “Add another pricing tier” button, and delete pricing tiers by clicking the rubbish bin to the right of the rental rate.

In addition to the rental rate the below pricing fields can be entered:

  • Minimum charge - The minimum amount a customer will be charged regardless of the return date

  • Max daily hours - The maximum amount of hours equipment can be used in 1 day

  • Excess hours rate - The rate the customer will be charged for each hour over the max daily hours

Additional Items

When you adding equipment to a rental quote, additional items can be configured to display items that the user might want to also add to the rental quote. This could items such as transport charges and attachments. If nothing is configured, this section will be blank, if configured, the user can change the charge, quantity and if it is required. When the required flag is ticked, it will automatically add this to the rental quote, and group the items together.
