How to create an equipment breakdown
When an equipment breakdown or repair occurs, a Work Order must be created. There are several ways to open a Work Order, depending on the circumstances. Below are the possible options and when to use them:
1. Known Equipment Number
When you are certain of the Equipment Number, you can create the Work Order directly.
This method is ideal for:
Customer Owned Equipment
Internal Equipment
Rental Equipment
2. Equipment on Rent (No Equipment Number Provided)
If the equipment is currently on rent and the customer cannot provide the Equipment Number, you can use the search function to locate the correct rental contract to create Work Order from.
Search using available customer-provided details such as:
Site name
Account name
Equipment model / make
3. Manual Jobs (Not Linked to Equipment)
Some jobs are not tied to a specific piece of equipment. In these cases, you can create a manual Work Order.
Best suited for tasks including, but not limited to:
Delivering items to a customer
Completing jobs that do not involve equipment
4. Outstanding Technician-Reported Issue
If a service tech has previously reported an outstanding issue on a piece of equipment, you can open a Work Order specifically to address that issue.
