March 2024

Welcome to the March 2024 release of Latner Software. There are many updates in this version that we hope you'll like, some of the key highlights include:

Summary of changes:

 

  • Users can now search or scan an equipment number and complete a return

  • Users can now create rental packages

  • Completed section in work orders has been updated as to allow formatting

  • When a user completes an off hire they can notifify the supplier and customer

  • Different PDF templates can be displayed when generating a purchase order

  • Users can view all of the equipment due for service

Details of changes:

Prompting users to create a Transport Docket

When a user adds details to a rental contract, they will be prompted with a message if they want to create a delivery docket or customer collection

Random QR Code numbers can be assigned to equipment

A random batch of QR Codes can be printed and assigned to an equipment number. Making it easier for businesses to purchase a stack of QR Codes and assign a new QR Code. The QR Code URL will be:

Users can now search or scan an equipment number and complete a return

A user can scan a QR Code and it will bring up the equipment and the current rental contract. The user can then go into the rental contract and complete a return.

Users can now create rental packages with specific rental rates

Currently there is functionality called additional items, where items are recommended when an equipment class or model is selected. These items are based off the configured rental rates. Now rental packages can be created and they can have specific pricing for that package. For example you might have a discounted rate on attachments when a specific excavator package is selected. These packages can also be used for grouping stock items together for a service kit that you want to add to a rental contract.

Completed section in work orders has been updated as to allow formatting

A completed work section has been added to work orders that allows for formatting such as paragraphs, bullet points, numbering, bolding text and other custom formating that will be display on the PDF’s generated.

When a user completes an off hire they can notify the supplier and customer

When sub hiring equipment from another business, it is important to notify them when an off hire has occurred. Now when an off hire occurs, the user will be prompted if they want to notify the supplier.

Different PDF templates can be displayed when generating a purchase order

Sometimes a different company is purchasing the assets within a company. Users can now configure a different purchase order layout with different company information on the PDF that is sent to the supplier.

Completed Date added to the Work Order Search Screen

When a work order is completed the date/time is stored and now displayed on both the search work order and work order details.

Equipment movements are now recorded in the equipment details

Each time an equipment movement is recorded it is captured in the equipment details. Movements could include selling or disposing equipment, making equipment inactive or transferring equipment. The utilisaiton reporting takes into account the movements for more accurate reporting.

Mobile Inspections can now be grouped by rental contract number

When viewing inspections on a mobile device the user can now display the list by inspections or by group by rental contract. This allows users to view a rental contract and to complete all of the inspections relevant to that specific rental contract.

Purchase Orders created for external transport now auto confirm and receipt

When creating a purchase order for external transport from a rental contract, the purchase order will auto confirm and receipt. This is saving the user from having to confirm the purchase order each time.

Users can now filter the revenue dashboard by equipment category

A new filter has been added to the revenue dashboard to allow users to company revenue by equipment category

A quick filter has been added to the rental daily dashboard to show what is coming off hire in the next 7 days

Users can now add a quick filter to the active rental contracts tab in the rental daily dashboard to display all of the equipment expected to by off hired in the next 7 days

When a payment is entered against an invoice in Xero it will create a payment against the customer invoice in Latner automatically

When credits are reconciled in the bank feed in xero against invoices and a payment is created, it will sync back to Latner to create the payment against the customer invoice.

When a payment is entered against a customer invoice in Latner it will create a payment against the invoice in Xero automatically. Users can specify what bank account in Xero each payment type should be going to.

Equipment availability displayed with a stepped line chart

In the home screen an equipment availability dashboard has been added. This can be filtered by category & class with an option to scale this over 10 days or 30 days. The dashboard will take into account the start dates & expected off hire dates and step up or down based on the availability.

Users now have the ability to cancel an equipment return

If the wrong equipment has been returned, users can now cancel the return which will update return status to cancelled and the equipment detail status to off hired. The system will also revert back to the previous meter reading.
